THE MASTER KEY MASTERMIND ALLIANCE can take you far – as far as your imagination is able – and most likely farther than you can imagine! Imagine that, and you’ve got the start of a fable. The kind of story told in olden times at a large Christmas table. Heroes there were 3, and guess what…one of them is me. Fawn and Stevo round out this galant MM trio. Together we are “tipping point, ” the name you’ve come to know. Off to save this world you see to the best of our combined ability; in the beginning so very slow. Yet, faster and faster as we went, we chipped away the Earth’s cement. To expose with the final peel the finest gold we’d ever seen! As does the part reveal the whole, such did the whole reveal the part; can you guess what this might mean? It meant far more than words can say I — so go, I must, and ask, may I?
ANOTHER BRICK IN THE CURTAIN
MY WEEK 13 POST ADDED AS A SPEEDY FILLER, WEEK 12 ENDED THIS WAY:
“Have you checked your word count lately? No need to answer. 568, without adding in either this “Ho, ho, ho, dialogue, or your new preamble!”
As a MKE Blogger Rover still trying to catch up – not only in his duties as a rover, but also in his responsibilities as a blogger – I ask you “what better way to do it than to use the MIU as the conduit?” [for any who have missed my previous three published posts (Weeks 9-11), the MIU is also known as a multipurpose insertion unit.]
So, here’s the scoop – my latest story – off the top of my head – as best I can recall – no sign of blood or anything gory (who do you think I am, “Peter Lorre?) nor necessarily full of fame and glory – however, at the end, I humbly hope few are disappointed, while most are pleased as punch to have gobbled down the entire enchilada until nothing remained at all.
As previously pointed out, or maybe not, exactly what the Blog Rover’s role would be at the start of MKE 2016, the road was more than a bit muddy. The four of us were essentially left on our own as self-directed thinkers – using our prior MKE student and guide experience, to slog our way forward to an undisclosed destination – thus, essentially, unknown. (A fifth Rover has been added, however, she is currently enjoying a leave of absence setting up camp in New Zealand.)
Well, not entirely unknown. We knew, for instance, our #1 priority was to assist in the area of student retention. In order to best do this, we knew right away we needed an Excel spreadsheet for complete comprehension. Something that would tell us which students we got, as well as, details needed to divvy up our lot. I must admit we made so many changes on the spreadsheet Paul initially created, it was often filled with red; however, not only do we have a tool useful for us now, but also for all the Blog Rover generations in the years ahead.
The twists and turns we encountered – along with the difficulties to navigate them, are listed in the Blog Rover Journal, Julia and Caryn are creating, and how they were solved.
Getting back, Paul created our initial spreadsheet – an Excel. And since we use Google Drive to share it, it’s really worked out well. Gone is the slow and laborious “old-fashioned way,” of sending email attachments back and forth. Connected this way, it’s all too easy to head east, west, or south, instead of the best route heading north. With G Drive, we can all work on it together, and any changes made, instantly reflected. It’s like having penicillin available, should we ever get seriously infected.
“Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres”, are the words Caesar may have said; however, our spreadsheet was divided into four parts, and I’m not sure what he might’ve said, instead – even with four years of high school Latin underneath my belt. With very few reminders, and not a drop of practice in the 50 years that have passed since high school graduation, there has been missing and very little coming in to maintain and replenish any knowledge that slowly leaks out of our cranial vault. Similar to a carton of ice cream accidentally left out at room temperature, always tends to melt. What Mr. Hogerhyde had taught me, so many years before – not much to begin with… Now, even less. I’m left to only guess.. “What is the Latin word for 4? I should know it! Do you know it?
I leave you to ponder as I wander out my bedroom door. Thinking as I’m going, “MIU’s kept under a limit of 700 words max, translates as more time for other things — more, more, more! Perhaps, you can see me smiling — a devilish grin with a hole in my chin — that’s hard to ignore!
Word count: 655
